I’m excited to announce the next edition of my portrait photography workshop happening in Accra, Ghana. This workshop is designed for photographers who want to gain confidence with strobe lighting, deepen their creative understanding of light, and approach portraiture with intention and artistry.

Over two immersive days, you’ll be guided through my complete portrait workflow, from lighting and hands-on shooting to editing and retouching, all with a focus on mastering light, shaping images deliberately, and creating portraits that stand out.

This workshop is ideal for photographers at all stages of their journey, whether refining existing skills or building a stronger technical foundation. Participants will leave with clarity, confidence, and practical tools to elevate their portrait work immediately.

DAY 1 — Presentation, Lighting & Practical Portrait Shooting

Session 1: Foundations of Portraiture

• Understanding light quality: soft vs hard light
• Direction, contrast, colors, and mood in portraits
• Using light modifiers effectively
• Common lighting mistakes and how to avoid them

Session 2: Live Lighting Demonstrations

• One-light, two-light, three-light setups
• Shaping light for depth and separation
• Controlling highlights and shadows
• Pre-visualizing the final image while shooting

Session 3: Hands-On Practical Shooting

• Participants work with a live model
• Guided experimentation with different lighting setups
• Posing and subject direction
• Applying techniques to achieve intentional, professional results

Session 4: Image Review

• Immediate feedback on participant shots
• Understanding what translates well into post-production

DAY 2 — Editing, Retouching & Portfolio Review

Session 5: Editing Workflow 

• Image selection and culling
• Color grading and skin tone correction
• Developing a cohesive signature look
• Non-destructive skin retouching
• Final polish and quality control

Session 6: Final Image Breakdown

• Before & after analysis
• Understanding creative decisions behind the final result
• Tips to maintain consistency and realism

Session 7: Portfolio Review & Q&A

• One-on-one feedback on participant portfolios
• Discussion of participant images from the workshop
• Open Q&A for technical, creative, and workflow questions
• Guidance for building confidence and refining personal style/branding.
